What can overseas members manage?
NIB says members can use the app or member account to check cover, make claims, view claims history, update details and access a digital membership card.
Making a claim
For eligible claims, NIB describes app-based claiming by uploading or photographing receipts. Always keep invoices and receipts until the claim is finalised.
Finding a provider
NIB also provides provider-search tools for GPs and specialists. Checking the provider and your benefit before treatment can help you understand possible out-of-pocket costs.
Keep your details current
Students arriving in Australia should update their Australian contact details. NIB says a physical membership card can then be sent, while a digital card is also available.
